Greetings Jorge Rivera, immigration attorney.

This issue is very important because a parole is the equivalent of a legal entry, and a legal entry makes it easier for you to residence. So we have to pay close attention to this detail because it can be the difference between your residency and having to leave the country asking for a pardon.

Who can obtain a Parole?

When you are approved for U VisaAs part of the approval comes a document that is the parole, equivalent to a legal entry. Also when you ask for a travel permit if you have the TPS or the DACAyou get one.

Any other travel permit granted by immigration when you return gives you a legal entry.

To persons who entered the U.S. with the MPP program were given an entry through a humanitarian parole under section 2125.

When you are released from Immigration, if you are detained at the border or were in a detention center, they often give you a parole because they give you a way out. This legal entry can allow you to become a resident if, for example, you are being petitioned for a U.S. citizen spouse or a U.S. citizen child or if you are the minor child of a U.S. citizen; immediate family members can become residents with parole and avoid the need to leave the country, punishment and pardon.

Legal input is the difference that will make your case so much easier and will make you qualifying for residency. If you do not have that legal entry many times you have to leave and there are times that do not qualify; for example, you are asked to have a child who is a U.S. citizen; it is useless for you to leave because the child cannot give you a pardon.
