Dreamers, Tepesians and other immigrants in legal limbo

Greetings Jorge Rivera, immigration attorney.

Dreamers

The dreamers are in legal limbo. There are dreamers who are applying for the first time or have already submitted their applications and have not been approved. Those who already have the DACA approved, they are not in danger.

Why are they in legal limbo? Because we remain in doubt as to whether or not they can be enforced. The administration of Joe Biden has said it will appeal and try to block the judge's decision, prohibiting the approval of new cases. However, we continue with the same desperation of the dreamers.

TPS

If we name the TPSWe are talking specifically about Hondurans, Salvadorans and Nicaraguans. Other nationalities have been extended TPS without any problem, such as Burma, Samalia, Yemen and many other countries.

Central America alone is what concerns us most. There is no security as long as the pending lawsuit continues. The TPS continues, but the automatic extension of the work permit expires on October 4.

Legal limbo

We continue to name more than 11 million people who remain in legal limbo. We must be mindful of where we stand in Congress:

Democrats say they want to include a plan, a pathway to the residence and eventual citizenship for the more than 11 million immigrants in the budget or the reconciliation proposal. However, we have no details of what they are proposing as a last attempt, because everything else, so far, has not worked for them.

So, we have all immigrants, DACA, and TPS without papers and in legal limbo. What can we do? Do not make the same mistake that is being made by the Congress. In the Congress, they want to invent something new for the immigration reform, and they think that both parties and both houses are going to agree, but this agreement has never materialized since Ronald Reagan. We are talking about more than 30 years ago.

If Congress would grant the Visas that are needed to decrease the 20+ year wait times for Mexico, millions of residencies would be resolved. All of this would happen if the current laws were in place.

Immigration Lawyers

There are more than 20 solutions for immigrants. President Joe Biden has implemented more than 10 major changes in all areas of Immigration. This means that if you are not using the current immigration laws to resolve your immigration status, you are making the same mistake as Congress.

We don't want you to make the same mistake. Let's work together by dealing with the current laws, finding a solution.
