Who says immigration reform is going to be a battle?

There are those who say that President Joe Biden's immigration reform is going to be a battle. No It is not being said by Republicans or Democrats, it is being said by immigrant advocacy groups: the lawyers.

The lawyers are the ones who are most interested in helping immigrants, and who are most interested in immigration reform. They themselves, the advocates, are saying that it's going to be a battle, that it's going to be difficult and that probably, if it passes, it's going to be very different from what the president has proposed.

Et is important to know what our advocates are saying. And, know that the chances depend on a big political battle, as we have always seen under all the past administrations. So, we have been waiting a long time for immigration reform.

Who have the best chances?

On this point, we agree not only with the Republicans and democrats, but those who defend the immigrants: the dreamers and workers in agriculture.

The dreamers have been the group with the most support for a path towards the residence. They were brought in as young people. They only know a country that has incorporated their education. Dreamers contribute, help, work and have no guilt.

Agricultural workers are a group with many possibilities as well, because agriculture is indispensable to the economy. We all know that many immigrants work in the harvest.

Therefore so much, these two groups in particular have a good chance, the others we don't know, they may be subject to a big battle.

Should we be waiting for immigration reform?

I will give you the answer with a saying: "don't put all your golden eggs in one basket". Sf our basket is immigration reform, we would be pinning all our hopes on doing absolutely nothing. This would be a big mistake, based on what immigrant advocates are saying. Why? Because we are not being practical, we are not being realistic.

YES we can win the lottery. YES there can be a miracle. But, We have to go with what we have and move forward as much as possible. We already know that immigration reform is going to be difficult.

What are the alternatives to immigration reform?

Let's look at the different options available to us:
