Greetings Jorge Rivera, immigration attorney.
I wanted to talk about this topic, because I am asked about it every day on social networks and in the interviews I do on television and radio.
This is something new and I want you to share this video with friends and family who are waiting for their appointments at the Embassies, or to family members who are waiting.
The answer is that the State Department now has a priority system.
The Department has said that all U.S. Embassies around the world are open, and that they are slowly resuming interviews for immigrant and non-immigrant visa approvals.
Specifically, people who want to come with residency to the U.S. are eagerly waiting but have to be aware of priorities.
You should keep this list of four priorities in mind, because it is according to these priorities that you will start giving more and more appointments.
The important thing is that when you are frustrated thinking about why you are not getting an appointment, imagine that a busy American Embassy was giving 200, 300 appointments before. After COVID-19 and social distancing, you are probably working at 50%.
They will gradually increase to 100%, you just need to be patient.
Generally speaking, if you were waiting for an appointment last year and had it cancelled by COVID, you are probably going to get your appointment in 2021. We anticipate getting out of all of your backlog this year.
Call me at 88 85 78 78 22 76.
For help with immigration call me; especially with appointments at the Embassies and the National Visa Center. The purpose is to have your case approved and all you are waiting for is the appointment at the Embassy.
