Greetings Jorge Rivera, immigration attorney.

Is a travel permit mandatory for dreamers?

Dreamers are under no obligation to ask for a travel permitThey may not have any relatives to visit if they travel at all.

However, for immigration purposes and in order to be able to reach the residence is super advisable to have it, because when they go out with a travel permit and come back, they are given a parole. The parole is a legal entryThe legal entry can be combined with petitions from future husbands, wives or children to be able to take up residence in the country without having to leave, without punishment and without pardon.

The same right was enjoyed by the Theppesiansbut Immigration cut it short, saying: "they can still apply for the travel permit, but it will no longer count as a legal entry. The same could happen with the dreamers. So take advantage, do not leave this opportunity on the table, it is very important that you do everything possible to get as close as you can to a residency.

Remember! Dreamers are not obligated to just go along with the DACAThe idea is to use DACA with the travel permit and legal entry to combine it with something else, such as a family petition, to achieve residency.
