Deportations drop to historic lows

This is very good news for our people. During the month of April, deportations dropped to 4692. This is the lowest level recorded in history.

When they started keeping track of monthly deportations, they started years ago at 3000 and now we are below that.
To put this in context, from March to April, they dropped by 20% the deportations.

We compare with the Trump administration

Per year, Trump went on to deport 240,000 people, far lower than under President Obama. Now, President Joe Biden is going to deport less than 100,000 people this year if we continue like this.

This means that, in the administration of Biden, are going to end up reporting less than half as many people as Trump reported annually. 

Why is all this happening? Because the current administration changed ICE's priorities. Today, they should only be deporting people who are dangerous to national security.rrorists, spies), people who have arrived after November 1, 2020, or those who are a danger to Public Safety (those who have committed serious crimes).

The vast majority of innocent people do not fall into these three groups. This means that they will not be deported. 

How should these people react?

This is a big question, as many will think that, since they belong to the group of innocent people, they do not have to worry about being deported. Therefore, they will remain undocumented. This would be a big mistake.  

Previously, under the Trump administration, what used to happen was that if you applied for something and you were denied, you were immediately on in deportation proceedings. Remember: this is not happening with Biden. If you apply for something and your case is denied, you are not placed in deportation proceedings, you are not deported.

Now more than ever it is safer and easier for you to apply. In addition, there is less risk. If you didn't take a risk before, you didn't know how to try, or you weren't sure, now is the time.
You have to take advantage of the administration of Biden to apply. You are more likely to get the work permit, the residence, y citizenship to be denied. They will not deport you even if they deny you the case.
