Congress to vote on immigration laws

What we expect from the house of representatives?

Nancy Pelosi is in charge of the Democratic majority with a 5-vote lead. Not much, much less than formerly even, but it's a 5-vote advantage. So, the Democrats are going to be able to pass this bill and others. Ehese are the first two of a series of bills they are planning and will probably pass. 

What are we waiting for in the Senate?

This is where we get stuck.
There are 50 Republicans, 50 Democrats and Kamala Harris, who is the tie breaker. She would be the 51st, giving the advantage to the democrats, But they can't pass everything with a simple majority. What does this mean? 

For example, in the Senate, they wanted to approve the minimum wage at 15 dollars, but they did not allow it to pass with 51 votes, with the vote of Kamala Harris, because it was not part of the budget. The same thing is going to happen with immigration, it is not part of the budget.  

Therefore bothIn order to pass the bill, they need 60 votes: the 50 Democratic votes, plus the 10 Republican votes. That's where it gets tricky. Republicans are against immigration reform, against amnesty and other things. That is why for example, they say that agricultural workers and workers in the dreamers whether they will be able to pass, but for others it is difficult.

This means that the future of the immigration laws is not in the House of Representatives, but in the Senate. Everything is completely uncertain, we will see what happens. It is important then, that you choose your alternatives.
