Greetings Jorge Rivera, immigration attorney.
Millions of people obtain the work permit every year, but not necessarily the residence. There are people who want to get to the residency as soon as possible but have not been able to, they do not know if they can, if they qualify or not.
All these questions or doubts will be answered today. If you have a work permit and want to become a resident, contact me.
We know that TPS and DACA, if not combined, will never lead to residency. If you only have TPS and don't apply for anything else, you will be left with only a work permit, the same with DACA.
These two benefits can lead to residency but using them in combination with something else. However, there are other types of procedures that do eventually lead to residency if you have a work permit. For example: the asylum and the ten-year law.
Now you can apply for the work permit from the beginning, even if it takes five years to be approved. U Visa. Three years later you can apply for residency. This means that, eventually, you will be able to become a resident.
If you have doubts, you don't know if you are going to reach residency with the specific work permit that you have, we can talk about it and determine if we have to do anything additional to reach residency in your case.
