Sharp increase in immigration arrests

There was a large increase in Immigration detentions, but some will no longer be detained. Look at the numbers, they do not lie. In March there were 14,000 people detained, and in July we already have 27,000. That is, an increase of 94 percent. They have almost doubled the number of immigrant detentions in only 4 months.

How about doubling it again before the end of the year? We would already be at capacity. What we don't want is to create a situation like we had under President Obama, who reached a record number of deportations.

Who are they no longer going to stop?

They will no longer stop the pregnant women who are breastfeeding and those who have not given birth for more than one year. This is a very good humanitarian step, which was taking place before the President Trump's administration, but which was overturned by him. Now, we are back to what it was before.

President Biden's changes: temporary or permanent?

The reality is that all changes are temporary, none are permanent.
In order to be permanent, they have to be approved by Congress and become law. As long as they are only changes in policies, regulations or executive actions by President Biden, they may very well change in the future.

The President Obama came to implement changes that were reversed by the Trump's president. Now the President Biden changes Trump's anti-immigrant policies to pro-immigrant policies. However, Joe Biden is advanced in age, so we do not know if in the future there could be another change of administration and revert things back to how they were before.
