Greetings Jorge Rivera immigration attorney.
This republican proposal for immigration reform has come as a surprise. In recent years, the only reform proposals we have seen have been from Democrats. This is a suggestion from the Republican representative from Florida, María Elvira SalazarI did many interviews with her while I was hosting a news program on Mega TV that was produced here in South Florida.
So, look, this proposal proposes to give a temporary residence for 10 years to the immigrants, during which time they will have to pay a fine of $1,000 per year (for a grand total of $10,000). In addition, they will be charged an additional 2% of taxes to pay for additional security at the border.
To qualify, individuals must have at least five years within the last five years within the USAThey have paid their taxes and have a clean criminal record. The only problem is that the lawsuits have already started between the republicans and the democrats And that's where the misgivings come in; because the Democrats are opposing this proposal (they postulate that it's punitive to immigrants, that it's racist and all the other political interests in between instead of negotiating).
If the Democrats had negotiated with the Republicans on the Democratic proposals then we would have gotten something, but now, if the Democrats negotiated with the Republicans we would have something. All these political fights leave us with absolutely nothing; just as we ended up in 2021, we would end up in 2022 because they are not willing to work together, which is what we need.
Unfortunately, if they are not willing to work together because of lawsuits and political controversies and power interests, then we have to solve our own cases. It is much more likely that we will find a solution with the help of our lawyer (and let me tell you, we would love to help you find that solution) that the Democrats and Republicans get on the same page because they are always fighting on the immigration issue.
If you need or want to find a solution I would love to help you. You can call me at 888 578 2276.
