Over the past 11 years, the Daca program has been subject to numerous lawsuits, attacks and restrictions. Despite efforts to repeal the program, it is still in effect. However, for dreamers under this temporary protection, it is necessary to explore other alternatives for more lasting legal stability.
Greetings Jorge Rivera immigration attorney.
And it is March 30, 2023 and nothing has happened with Daca.
Lawsuits are pending in Federal court to overturn the Daca in its entirety.
They are otherwise trying to get Judge Andrew Hanen in Texas Federal Court to agree to approve the first time applications but absolutely nothing has happened.
But I do want to remind you that since President Obama started the Daca program in 2012, 11 years ago, Daca has been the target of lawsuits, attacks, that it is being taken away, that it is being dropped, that it is being put in place, that it can be applied for the first time, that it cannot be approved... a thousand problems that it has had because it is not a law.
If nothing has happened, we are going to hear news at any moment but the recommendation is don't stay with the Daca, keep renewing it but look for something better... what is better than the Daca: the residence.
The big question for all dreamers and ask all the dreamers you know if you are the parent, if you are a dreamer of friends or family members who have one:
In other words, if you are a dreamer, you have the Daca and you are calm "shrimp that sleeps, gets carried away by the current", eventually there may be some problems for the Daca, hopefully not, but the recommendation and the challenge is to look for the residency together.
