Greetings Jorge Rivera, immigration attorney.

With TPS we can move to a residence

The mistake many people make is to think that they have the right TPSThey have to stay and continue with the benefit until I give them something. But this is not the case. You can continue with the TPS and do other things with Immigration that can lead you to the residence.

Generally, the first thing we see for Tepesians Who can ask you? He can ask you for a son, a father, a mother and a wife.

We want to know if you traveled before August 20, 2020 with a travel permit that gives you legal entry. After that date you no longer have entry, but no matter what, there are options to obtain residency. For example, if you have legal entry and you are asked for a U.S. citizen child, we go straight to residency. Other family members, such as a spouse or parent, can petition for you and then you apply for a waiver within the country.

You can also petition for a business. If you have a spouse, father or mother who can give you a pardon, we do a combination of a company petition with a family pardon.
And there are even more options. We have:

  • U Visa: for victims of crime.
  • Domestic violence: if you have been abused by an immediate family member who is a resident citizen.
  • Ten-year law.
  • Asylum.

Don't just stay with TPS because it is only a work permit, and no immigrant is content to stay for the rest of his or her life with a work permit. What immigrants want is to obtain residency, and that is what all Tepesians should be actively seeking, taking advantage of the automatic extension of the work permit until December 31, 2022, to see if they can mobilize and find something that will lead to something permanent.
