Alternatives to achieve immigration reform

The democrats are now forced to look for alternatives, as the Parliamentary did not allow to include the immigration reform as part of the budget.

The detail is that there was a reason why they wanted to include it as part of the budget and that is because it is the only way they had enough votes, which is the 50 plus the vice president's tie-breaking vote on the Senate and that way if they could pass immigration reform.

If it is not within the budget, they can look for alternatives, but they would need the republican support. At least 10 Republicans are needed for this to become a reality.

2. The other alternative is to forget about citizenship for dreamers, tepesians and agricultural and essential workers and focus only on residency.

The problem is that no Republican has indicated a willingness to vote for these various measures. Democrats would continue to lack the votes necessary to achieve that reality.

Progressives like Ilhan Omar are saying that they should ignore the parliamentarian's decision and proceed, taking it simply as a recommendation. However, that has not been done since 1975; and by all the statements of the Democrats it is not the most popular way to go.
