Nowadays the Congress is not debating on the Immigration Reform. We hope that they start the debate on October, but is always possible to be advancing towards the permanent residence status under any other alternative available. If the Congress approves the Immigration Reform the new law will give legal status in the country and permission to work but the applicant would be able to apply for the permanent resident status in 10 years. Any person who has some process advanced for example a family petition would be able to become permanent resident faster.
The intention of the new law is to put at the end of the waiting list any person who does no qualify for any benefit under the current laws of Immigration.
